FAWE Liberia officially launched its Strategic Plan (2024-2028) and the FAWE-Mastercard Foundation Phase II Program on Wednesday, November 19 at the “His Majesty Hall” on RIA Highway, adjacent Jamaica Resort .
The launch was graced by Hon. Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah, Minister of Education, who served as the Chief Guest as well as the Chief Launcher, Hon. Cllr. Jeror Cole Bangalu, Minister of Youth and Sports, Madam Oley Dibba Wadda, FAWE Africa Board member, Dr. Martha Muhwezi, FAWE Africa Executive Director, Teresa Omondi Adeitan, FAWE Africa Deputy Executive Director, Dr. Evelyn Kandakai, Founder of FAWE Liberia, Dr. Meima Sirleaf-Karneh, outgoing Board Chair of FAWE Liberia, and host of FAWE Executive Directors from Ghana, Ethiopia, Senegal, Malawi, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe and staff from FAWE Regional Secretariat (RS).
The event brought together educational stakeholders from several universities and TVET institutions, National Commission on Higher Education (NCHE) and as well as developmental organizations like UNIDO, UNESCO, YOCEL etc
The FAWE-Mastercard Foundation Phase II Program focuses on supporting marginalized young women and men from economically challenged backgrounds between the ages of 15-25 years who have completed secondary education to transit into tertiary education with specific focus on TVET, STEM, Bridging, Entrepreneurship and to acquire dignified and fulfilling Jobs.
