The Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) Liberia chapter along with partners commemorated the International Day of the Girl Child in Sinje, Grand Capemount County on October 13, 2025.

On December 19, 2011, the United Nations General Assembly voted to pass a resolution adopting October 11, 2012, as the inaugural International Day of Girls. Since then this day has been internationally recognized and celebrated. This Year’s International Theme is “The Girl I am, the Change I Lead” and the Local Theme is “I am a Girl, My Voice, My Power, Building Hope in crisis.

The Program brought together representatives of the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Women Groups, Civil Society Organizations, FAWE Liberia Alumni Network, School Administrators, Students and the Fourth Estate.

FAWE Liberia extends heartfelt appreciation to all stakeholders for their invaluable contributions, including Hon. Bintu Mansary, District # 1 Lawmaker, Grand Capemount County who served as the “KEYNOTE SPEAKER “.
