Ayo Elaine Scott

Ayo Elaine Scott is an experienced civic education professional, gender advocate. She currently serves as Deputy Director of Civic and Voter Education at the National Elections Commission, where she develops and designs election-related messages, trains and sensitizes voters on pre- and post-election processes, and mobilizes Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to promote equal opportunities for marginalized groups at all levels. In this role, which she has held for five years, she also collaborates with donor and development partners to align program strategies for elections.

Ayo has also worked with the United Nations, supporting capacity-building initiatives and advancing the organization’s core values of gender equality and equal opportunity for all. Over the course of nineteen years, she has helped develop programs that support women, girls, and marginalized communities.

She joined FAWE-Liberia in 1997, serving as Assistant Coordinator and playing a key role in establishing FAWE Girls’ School Clubs in six counties. In that capacity, she represented FAWE in resource mobilization and project defense efforts at both national and regional levels. Her background also includes five years of management experience and accounting knowledge from two banking institutions, which have strengthened her ability to safeguard financial operations.

Ayo holds a master’s degree in Gender Conflict Resolution, a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Management from the University of Liberia, and an Associate of Arts degree in Accounting and Management from African Methodist Episcopal University.
