Monrovia, Liberia – September 8, 2026 — The Forum for African Women Educationalists Liberia Chapter (FAWE Liberia) has successfully concluded a week-long refresher training and official induction ceremony for its Mastercard Foundation Phase II Program Selection Committees (Bridging and Techincal and Vocational Education and Training – TVET), running from September 2 to September 7, 2026.

The intensive exercise engaged selection committees operating across ten targeted counties: Grand Bassa, Margibi, Grand Cape Mount, Bong, Nimba, Lofa, Grand Gedeh, Sinoe, Maryland, and Montserrado.

Reinforcing Integrity and Transparency:

The core objective of the refresher training was to realign committee members with the program’s foundational values—ensuring that the selection of bursary participants remains strictly fair, transparent, inclusive, and merit-based. By operating within existing community, institutional, and governmental structures, these committees play a vital role in upholding equity, integrity, and operational accountability throughout the selection cycle.

Official Induction and Delivery of Terms of Reference (ToR):

Following the training sessions, committee members at both District and County levels were formally inducted into office to enable efficient execution. Each committee was provided with a comprehensive Terms of Reference (ToR) package, which outlines:

 * A step-by-step operational guide for candidate evaluation at each administrative level.

 * Explicit professional standards and responsibilities expected of every committee member.

 * Binding deliverable timelines to ensure the timely completion of the selection process.

With the Induction complete and operational frameworks in place, the FAWE-Mastercard Foundation Phase II Program is now in full swing as it seeks to advance equitable access to tertiary education for young marginalized women and men across the country.
