

Atty. Evelyn F. Barry is a women rights advocate with a background as a professional lawyer. She is the founder and Executive Director of Carefound-Liberia, educating women and girls on their legal rights and protections. Atty. Barry has over 23 years’ experience in conflict and post-conflict settings, working with multi-international and national agencies in fields including advocacy, education, gender, legal rights and protection, environment, and program development.
In her role as Education Program Officer and Gender focal Person at the United Nations Children Fund’s (UNICEF), Atty. Barry led a coordinated effort to analyse data, organize project interventions, and led the establishment of national policies aimed at achieving gender parity and increased access and retention to education in post-war Liberia.
Atty. Barry’s specific policy achievements in this role includes the National Policy on Girls Education, which provides the assurance for girls to attend school and the Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) policy, guaranteeing access to education for children that missed out on their education due to the civil crises in Liberia.
Currently, Atty. Barry is providing consultancy services as a Gender Specialist at the Liberia Women Empowerment Project (LWEP), a World Bank founded project under the Ministry of Gender Children and Social Protection (MGCSP).
Atty. Barry holds a BA in Business Management, a LLB in Laws, an MBA in Financial Management, a post graduate diploma in Diplomacy and several Certificates in Gender and litigations.
